WHat's in a name?
Poor Hendrix was named after our rescue pit-bull. Hendrix was saved from the euthanasia list at Dekalb Animal Services in 2012 as a skinny, scabby, nearly hairless puppy whose health challenges were just beginning. Hendrix survived multiple bouts of mange, parvo, a seizure disorder, and countless hospitalizations before finally being diagnosed with immune-mediated polyarthritis. Thanks to the dedication of Animal Action Rescue and the expertise of top-notch vets around Atlanta, Hendrix enjoyed many happy, healthy years before passing away suddenly in the summer of 2019. Throughout the years, many people fell in love with and followed the progress of our sweet pup. Whenever we would give them updates on his most recent health tribulations, their response was invariably, “Aww, poor Hendrix” and the name for our restaurant was born. Hendrix is missed dearly by us & by all that were lucky enough to meet him. However, we take comfort in knowing that his fighting spirit, ability to love without bounds, and outgoing & generous nature will live on in the legacy of the restaurant that carries his name.
